The self-acclaimed dancehall king had told his audience in London at a show that Ghana is a village. His comment did not go well with a section of Ghanaians who took to social media to blast him.
However, in a post he made on twitter and sighted by sources, Shatta Wale has explained why he made that comment. According to him, Ghana lacks many basic amenities and social interventions including hospital beds, ambulances, and also poor roads. He added that the ordinary citizens have been ignored by the government, however, when government officials are sick, they fly out of the country to seek medical help in advanced countries.
This and many other reasons, Shatta Wale said, make Ghana a village. The ‘Taking Over’ hitmaker stressed that he was not going to retract his “Ghana is a village statement” until there is a change. He wrote: “I’ll continue to #GhanaIsAVillage until I start seeing change .., yes I craze .. Wetin better ,country wey hospitals no get bed, Roads all spoil,if leader sick either dem fly out or chopper picks them during accidents ,where the ambulances Dey .. We Dey Village stop the nonsense."I’ll continue to #GhanaIsAVillage until I start seeing change .., yes I craze ..
